Top Ten Movies for the BrokenHearted
I am the type of person who finds solace in movies, music, people, and art when she is feeling sad and heartbroken. It makes me realize that I am not the only one who has felt this because other people are using art to portray a broken heart. . Below are the top ten movies that I watch whenever I am feeling heartbroken, which has been an ongoing feeling for the past three years.
1. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - He loves her, she loves him, but her complex nature makes the relationship shatter. I’ve always wondered if I would want to erase all memories of the person who I love more than life itself. Right now I want to say yes, but in the long run, I think I would be like Jim Carrey’s character and hide him in the deepest parts of my mind for as long as I could.
2. Sense and Sensibility – Marianne and Willoughby. He breaks her heart, and she almost dies from it. Can a broken heart ever be repaired? It can, but there will always be scar tissue.
3. Vanilly Sky – Two people tore apart by a psycho and never able to regain what they once had.
4. A Very Long Engagement - She hopes and hopes for her true love to return to her. In the end, he does. She would say things like, “If he is still alive, then I will get there before the car does.” I tend to do this, so I loved this movie of hopes and dreams.

Trois Coleurs: Blue - She loses her daughter and husband to a horrible accident. She becomes a recluse, but slowly starts finding the beauty around her. I hope that one day I can find the beauty that is surrounding me, like she did.
