A Realistic Movie About Finding Love After 50
Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson in “Last Chance Harvey” , originally uploaded by beastandbean.Are you ever too old for love? Do you take chances? This is what Last Chance Harvey was exploring. It stars two Dustin Hoffman (e.g. Rain Man, Tootsie, etc.) and Emma Thompson (e.g. Sense and Sensibility, Remains of the Day, etc.) as couple who fall in love. One of the main reasons that I liked the film was that it wasn’t a young, trendy couple who falls in love. It’s rare nowadays to see a movie that explores love and life from people over the age of 50. They had pretty cute chemistry, and I smiled when they interacted.
The only problem with the movie was that it was way too slow. I felt that some of the scenes could have been cut or shortened, and I pondered a few times if I should fast forward. However, it was a nice film, so I didn’t want to do that in case I missed something. Even with that, I think that everyone should watch this movie. It makes you realize that you have to take risks in life in order to find happiness, and money isn’t going to do that for you.
